What is QuadroPlace in short?

QuadroPlace is a two-player strategy board game that runs in the browser on a shared screen. It does not need installation and is designed so two people can sit down in front of one device and play on the same board.

Do I need an account?

Not for everything. In Easy mode you can play locally without registration with an anonymous second player. Medium mode already requires sign-in, and Hard mode requires sign-in plus an active subscription.

What are Easy, Medium and Hard for?

Easy is the simplest entry point for quick local play. Medium is tied to a signed-in account and is suitable for saveable matches when the second player is also a registered user. Hard uses the most complex rule set, requires a subscription, and is the mode that counts for the leaderboard.

Can I save a game and continue later?

Yes, but not in every situation. Easy mode does not save games. In Medium and Hard, saving matters when the match is tied to a signed-in user and the game type meets the save conditions. Saved matches are available under My games.

Do I need a powerful device or an installation?

No. QuadroPlace is built for modern browsers and does not require installation, a dedicated graphics card or gaming hardware. A current phone, tablet, laptop, desktop or smart TV is usually enough if its browser is modern.

Which browser should I use?

For the best experience, use an up-to-date Chrome, Edge, Firefox or Safari. Very old browsers and old embedded webviews are not target platforms because the game relies on modern browser features.

Do I need a continuous internet connection?

Yes, for normal use you should expect to need a stable internet connection. The game runs in the browser, and account-linked features, saved games, invites and subscription checks all require server communication.

What do I get with the Hard subscription?

The Hard subscription unlocks access to start Hard mode. That gives you the most complex rule set, and this is also the mode tied to the leaderboard. Subscription management is available from the homepage when Stripe is active in the system.

How privacy-conscious is the system?

The project deliberately stays restrained: no ads, no marketing cookies, and it is not built to keep you in front of the screen as long as possible. Even so, the technical data needed for accounts, sign-in, saved games and subscriptions still has to be processed.

What if the game does not start, signs me out, or something is unavailable?

First check whether you are signed in, whether your session is still active, and in Hard mode whether your subscription is active. If a button is unavailable, there is usually a reason, such as sign-in, a saveable game type or a subscription requirement. If the issue remains, refresh the page, sign in again and try once more.
